Wash Water Treatment Discharge Systems
Evans Equipment & Environmental offers several industrial water filtration systems that
will properly treat your wash water, making it safe for discharge. A discharge system is
designed to capture the water that is used by a pressure washer, which then filters and
treats the water to a degree that is legal for discharge. Businesses within city limits
may choose this option for disposing of wash water into city sewers, or simply a surface
discharge on their premises.
Here’s how a discharge system works using a wash pad as an example. As you pressure clean heavy
equipment or vehicles, the water runs off and collects in a pit system, where it will await
treatment in a mechanical filtration unit. This filtering process removes solids, debris, and
oils from the water in a variety of treatment options, such as mechanical filtration,
bioremediation or electrocoagulation.
Once the water has been treated to a level that meets local regulations, the water is discharged.
